As a queer person who happens to be a woman , veteran and indigenous , I continue to fight against prejudice on all sides. Our son Elijah came out at age 8. We feel very fortunate that we’ve had the opportunity to be supportive of his authentic journey from the very beginning. We’ve become the go-to in our neighborhood for the kids who feel they can’t be themselves at home and do our best to provide a safe and affirming space.
