Most people wouldn't put "gay" and "Muslim" in the same sentence. Some would say that a gay Muslim is sort of an oxymoron. After coming out to my extremely conservative family, my whole life changed. I had family members disown me and question whether I was "sick" or not.

I have the most amazing support network around me. I've come to realize that those who decide not to be in your life don't actually deserve to have you in theirs. Although we might not know each other, everyone involved in NOH8 is a large family of sorts. Despite our various backgrounds and experiences, we are all interconnected through our love of one another.
