We have made a personal decision to not have our own children in this lifetime and have realized that while we may not ever be parents ourselves and be able to guide a child's journey as parents, our stronger and more important role is to help guide the journeys of our own nieces and nephews and the young children around us in our lives.

We have realized that the responsibility of raising children extends well beyond their parents and that the choice to not have children does not absolve us from the responsibility to 'step in' for the young people in our life from time to time and be a force in their lives. We must teach and show them that the world is made up of all types of people and that no matter what, we are all one.
